How to Set Yourself Apart as a Gold Star Employee
The workplace can be a very competitive environment. Everyone strives to be the best employee they can be, but it can be difficult to find a healthy balance between being seen as a hard worker and a suck-up. The Brand Girls know the struggle and want to help you stand out above the rest. Here are four of our favorite ways to set yourself apart as a gold star employee.
Be punctual: One of the most important things you can do as an important is be on time. Being punctual shows that you are responsible and reliable. Employers want to hire someone they know they can trust.
Go above and beyond: Don’t just do the bare minimum. Always stay on top of your assignments. If you know there is work do be done, don’t just sit around until someone tells you what to do. Be proactive and get to work on tasks you know that need to be done.
Stay positive: Work can get hard at times and it can easily take a toll on you if you let it. Try your best to make the best of any difficult situation. You character will shine through depending on how you handle tough times.
Take charge: If you are working with a team on a project, take the lead. Show your employer that you can work well with others as well as handle any task you are given. There is nothing more powerful than someone who willingly takes charge and wants to better the team.
