HOW LAUREN CONRAD DOES IT ALL

It’s been almost ten years since she left The Hills in 2009, but Lauren Conrad is living her best
life. She has been on Forbes’ 30 Under 30, built a blogging empire, released a book series, a
line of bedding and a line of beauty products, and participated in more fashion projects than
most people care to think about. Now, she is also juggling a marriage and child - what can’t she
do? Here at The Brand Girls, we love Conrad’s drive to do just about anything! Here are
Lauren’s tips on how to do it all.

On settling:  "Never settle. One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received was to never settle in
relationships, friendships, your career, or your dreams. Never accept less than what you think
you deserve, and aim for bigger and better (because you will probably get it!). You never want
to look back and think, ‘I could have done more.’ You can do more…right now. Stop saying
‘someday.’ Start saying ‘today."

On rejection: "Don’t let a ‘no’ determine your value, or veer you off your desired path. Every single one of us will hear the word ‘no’ more than once in our lifetime. It doesn’t mean that you should give up, or that you don’t deserve what you asked for."

On small talk: "Sometimes it takes a little mental preparation before you walk into a crowded room. First and foremost, you should always be ready to make a lasting first impression. Be polite, make eye contact and use that firm handshake you’ve been practicing."

On work-life balance: "I recommend blocking out time, whether that’s a weekend day or a few hours one night each week, where you can catch up on things like laundry, calling friends and family or just reading a good book. I also highly suggest having a weekend with no plans once in a while—it’s such a treat."
