DEAR BG - INTERVIEWS
Q: How should I prepare a phone interview with recruiters? I feel like I am better in person! I have one tomorrow with a recruiter for a company where they want to evaluate what positions I would be suited for, and I don't really know how to prepare.
A: " Great question! Let's shift your mentality here... let's say you are LUCKY it is a phone interview because this means that you get to have printouts + notes in front of you! I want you to come up with a list of industry buzz words that fit the different areas of focus for you - about 3 or so per position and then make sure to incorporate the words throughout the interview. You will look incredibly knowledgeable throughout the process in a multitude of areas." - Rachael Bozsik CEO + Founder of The Brand Girls
Q: I was going through a recent job application, and was wondering if you had any advice for answering the question, "anything else we should know?" I am a little stumped and would love to hear how I should go about it!
A: "This is a GREAT place to write WHY you are deeply rooted to the company’s mission + vision (be specific + show them you did your research!) This is also a great place for you to explain some work that you have done in the past that aligns with them (show them by hiring you it would save them time, energy + money.) "I am so deeply connected to your brand because.... I recently have worked for __ where I _____" - Rachael Bozsik, CEO + Founder of The Brand Girls
Q: Do you have any advice on group interviews?
A: "The reason why companies conduct group interviews is because they want to see how you naturally interact with others. Make sure you are social, connecting, smiling etc. You will want to make sure that you pitch yourself + your past abilities without stealing the stage." - Rachael Bozsik CEO + Founder of The Brand Girls
