5 SECRETS TO TURNING YOUR INTERNSHIP INTO A FULL-TIME GIGYou nailed the interview, and you’re getting ready to start your dream internship - woohoo! Here’s how to make sure you stick around for more than just the summer. ![]() Ask: A lot of companies love to hire from within, so get yourself off on the right foot by asking if this is potentially an internship to hire, or if they have a tendency to take on interns full-time. ![]() Research, Research, Research: Learn everything you can about your current role and the one you would like to take on. If you show your company that you are invested in learning more about them, they will want to keep you around. ![]() Make Your Stay Memorable: Be sure to be a friendly face and someone who is always willing to give a helping hand. Don’t buy coffee for the office every day, but make sure you always put your best foot forward. ![]() Treat the Internship like a Job: Behave as if you have the job you want, not the job you have. This is said a lot for a reason - it’s true! Act like a full-time employee and you’ll increase your chances of becoming one. ![]() Stay Connected: This is a tip that our Founder and CEO Rachael Bozsik is a champion of. Make sure your name is in circulation, even if you go back to school. Send a thank you after you complete your internship to the people who have been your champions, and stay in touch every 3 months. 4 Ways to Rock Your Campus Career FairApplying for your first job or first internship online is a great way to search for your dream gig, but The Brand Girls team wants to share a little secret to increase your odds of being hired You’ve spent so much time on your personal brand and confidence - now go show off your hard work! Dress as if you are going to an interview! ![]() Do your prep work: If your college provides a list of the companies attending the career fair, go through a few days before and highlight ones you’d be interested in working for. Don’t forget to check out their websites for potential job openings and more information about the company! Recruiters will be impressed that you know what their company does and if there is a specific role you think you’d be a good fit for. You’ll also want to print copies of your resume and cover letter to pass out! ![]() Practice your elevator pitch: As much as you’re looking for a job or internship, recruiters are looking to make the best hires for their companies. A lot of times that means meeting with as many students as possible at career fairs. Practice your elevator pitch the night before - you want to present yourself as polished, to the point and professional! ![]() Follow up: Be sure to collect business cards from everyone that you meet with + don’t forget to follow up with your new connections! Email them a digital copy of your resume, connect on LinkedIn and apply for positions online if necessary. Bonus points for bringing your own contact cards. "NONE of it
When others react to you in a + or a - light it all has to do with their outside experience and past upbringing
We are ALL a product of our experiences... meaning someone may not "like you" because they had a successful sister who they thought stole the stage - so she reflects that on you. Remember that's not on you... that piece is on her.
We are all wounded - if you can remember this when you face a judgmental face or challenging demeanor it gives you power, it gives you control and allows you the ability to DIRECT your own experience." - Rachael Bozsik, CEO + Founder of The Brand Girls

GIVE YOURSELF A DEADLINE
My personal favorite technique is giving myself a deadline to be stressed. I take a moment to acknowledge that I have a lot going on in that moment and I’m feeling stressed and overwhelmed. Then I give myself the next 30 minutes (or hour/day/3 days depending on how big my stressor is) to whine about it, but then when my deadline arrives I have to get up and conquer my to-do list. Four Books to Read for the College Girl Boss
Love the #girlboss movement? There are SO many inspiring women in every industry. Whether you are drawn to fashion or accounting, there is a book by a female author for everyone. Here are four books we love to read at The Brand Girls!
#Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso
It wouldn’t be right to have a #girlboss list without this book! An inspiring story by the founder of Nasty Gal on how she went from being a security guard to launching her Ebay store into a million dollar business. Once you’ve read the book, check out the Netflix series that is loosely based of the story. |
Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg
Facebook COO gained the media’s attention after the sudden death of her husband - but has chose to use that attention for good! In her book, she discusses women’s careers and why they tend to hold themselves back in male dominated industries. To go along with the story, check the Inspirational Leader piece on The Brand Girls blog! |

What to do When You Lose Motivation
There is nothing more frustrating than losing motivation. It can be in your work life or personal life. Either way, it can be hard to get things done when you don’t have the drive to do that. The Brand Girls understands the struggle and want to help you ease out of your slump. Here are couple ways to regroup!
Walk Away
There is no use in going over a problem over and over again. That’s not going to help anything. Step away from what you are focused on and go do something completely opposite of what is bothering you. It can be for 15 minutes or a couple days, but you are going to feel much better going back to work when you have a clear head. |
Talk it Out
Be Open to Inspiration
You never know when inspiration is going to hit. You could be running at the gym or scrolling social media. Don’t shut down inspiration just because it isn’t related to what you need. Keep an open mind and you will be surprised at what will motivate you! How do you reset when your unmotivated? Let us know on our social media pages @thebrandgirls! |

Four Ways to Show Yourself Self-Love
February is the month that is all about love! With Valentine’s Day coming up, it seems like everywhere you look it's all about relationships. There is one relationship you should invest in this month and that is the relationship with yourself! Life can get busy with school, work, and other activities and it can be easy to forget to take time for yourself. The Brand Girls want to help change that! Take some time to focus on yourself this month and you will be amazed at the difference!
Set Aside Time to do Something You Love:
Remove Negative Influences:
Everyone has something in their life that drags them down. It could be a person, activity, or just anything that negatively impacts your life. It doesn’t have to be a drastic change. Start small! Unfollow the person on social media or turn down offers that make you unhappy. Small changes lead to big outcomes! |
Surround Yourself with People You Love:
Celebrate Your Success:
Land your dream job? CELEBRATE! Passed a hard exam? CELEBRATE! There is no milestone too small to celebrate. You should be proud of every powerful thing you accomplish! Gather your friends and family for a night out and brag about your success! How do you show yourself self-love? Share it with us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @thebrandgirls! |
