You nailed the interview, and you’re getting ready to start your dream internship - woohoo!
Here’s how to make sure you stick around for more than just the summer.
Ask: A lot of companies love to hire from within, so get yourself off on the right foot by asking if this is potentially an internship to hire, or if they have a tendency to take on interns full-time.
Research, Research, Research: Learn everything you can about your current role and the one you would like to take on. If you show your company that you are invested in learning more about them, they will want to keep you around.
Make Your Stay Memorable: Be sure to be a friendly face and someone who is always willing to give a helping hand. Don’t buy coffee for the office every day, but make sure you always put your best foot forward.
Treat the Internship like a Job: Behave as if you have the job you want, not the job you have. This is said a lot for a reason - it’s true! Act like a full-time employee and you’ll increase your chances of becoming one.
Stay Connected: This is a tip that our Founder and CEO Rachael Bozsik is a champion of. Make sure your name is in circulation, even if you go back to school. Send a thank you after you complete your internship to the people who have been your champions, and stay in touch every 3 months.
