4 Things You Need to Do Before Your Summer Internship Ends
Wow, where has the summer gone?! The Brand Girls team certainly can’t believe that we’re halfway through it. In a month, so many of us will be getting ready to go back to college, so this is a great time to think about how to gracefully exit your banging summer internship. Here is our advice on what to do before your internships ends so you can leave as a total #girlboss!
Complete your brag sheet: This one is super important to do BEFORE the end of your internship. Write down everything you’ve accomplished at your internship with concrete numbers and facts so you can wow future employers.
Send out thank you notes: Kindness goes so far today, and in the work world something as simple as a thank you note can go even farther. Show your team that you have enjoyed and appreciated the opportunities that you have had with and because of them. This will boost your networking credibility!
Collect letters of reference or recommendation: Another tip that is super important BEFORE the end of your internship. You want to make sure that your references are able to write about you while all the amazing skills you’ve showcased are still fresh in their minds.
Update your resume: This is kind of a given, but you would be surprised by the number of women who wait too long to update their resume and then look out of date. This doesn’t just apply to experience by the way; if you learned something new on the job, it could be a great addition to your skills section!
We hope you have a great rest of your internship and you use these tips to help land your next one!
